WILEY-Henan University International Nanobionics Symposium was held in Kaifeng

Hosted by WILEY and Henan University, the “2019 WILEY-Henan University International Nanobionics Symposium” was held on 12 – 14 April 2019 at the historic city grounds, Kaifeng, Henan, China. Executive committee of the symposium included Fellow of Chinese Academy of Science (FCAS), Prof. Ben Zhong Tang as president, Dean of School of Life Sciences, Prof. Yuchen Miao as executive chair.   

Prof. Baoming Zhang, Deputy Party Secretary of Henan University, Prof. Ben Zhong Tang (FCAS) from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Prof. Deyue Yan (FCAS) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Dr. Xin Su from JOHN-WILEY delivered the opening remarks, hosted by Prof. Yuchen Miao. Officers from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Life Sciences were also present at the opening ceremony. A warm and hearty welcome opening remark was delivered by Prof. Baoming Zhang for the participation and support from all attendees. 

The symposium brought together the best of brains for roundtable discussions on the following topics: Biological Application of Aggregation-Induced Emission (AIE), Plant Stress Biology, Brain Diseases: Diagnosis and Treatment, and Interdisciplinary Research. Presentations delivered by world renowned experts including Fellows of Chinese Academy of Science (FCAS), Prof. Ben Zhong Tang and Prof. Deyue Yan, Prof. Taeghwan Hyeon from Seoul National University, Researchers Xuesi Chen, Jun Lin and Zhigang Xie from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Prof. Zhiyuan Zhong and Prof. Zhuang Liu from Suzhou University, Prof. Chunhai Fan, Prof. Xiaolei Zuo and Prof. Jinyao Liu from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. Mingyuan Gao from Institute of Chemistry, CAS, Researchers Xingjie Liang, Guangjun Nie and Lele Li from National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, Prof. Zhuang Liu, Prof. Youqing Shen and Researchers Daishun Ling from Zhejiang University, Prof. Zhihong Zhang and Prof. Zifu Li from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Prof. Jiandong Ding from Fudan University, Prof. Jong Bae Park from National Cancer Center, Korea, Prof. Roger Chung from Macquarie University, Australia, Prof. Hua Wang from Henan University, Researchers Yu Chen from Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, CAS, Prof. Gang Liu from Xiamen University, Researchers Haijun Yu from Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, CAS, Prof. Changyang Gong and Prof. Jia Geng from Sichuan University, Prof. Dan Ding, Prof. Weiwei Guo and Prof. Xue Xue from Nankai University, Prof. Yong Liu from Wenzhou Medical University, Prof. Yang Yang from Tongji University, Researchers Kelong Fan from Institute of Biophysics, CAS. 

The symposium brought together over 250 scientists and WILEY editors from around the world to discuss exciting breakthroughs in nanobionics application and to create bridges between nanotechnology and biological sciences.
